STEP Into Safety in 2026

Safety doesn’t happen by accident — it starts with informed decisions.

We’re excited to introduce STEP — Glenco’s Safe Traffic Education Plan.

STEP is focused on helping communities better understand traffic safety challenges and how to prepare for them throughout the year. From seasonal hazards to everyday roadway concerns, STEP is designed to share professional insights, best practices, and safety solutions that support safer streets for everyone.

You’ll see STEP roll out across topics like:

  • MUCTD compliance,

  • winter preparedness,

  • school zone safety,

  • construction projects,

  • roadway maintenance,

  • and much more…

All with one goal in mind: education that leads to safer outcomes.

Glenco is proud to launch this program, and we are ready to deliver the full range of products and services to optimize safety for all.

STEP into MUTCD Compliance: Do your signs meet the current visibility standards?

Back in 2015, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUCTD) made key updates to signage requirements, including minimum retroreflectivity levels, placement, height, shape, graphics, fonts, and alignment. The requirements also necessitated that agencies have systematic maintenance programs to keep signs bright, visible, and in good condition. Glenco helped municipalities comply with these guidelines, making the roadways safer for all travelers.

Here we are, ten years later—and we know that most signs have a lifespan of ten years. This means that all of those Warning and Regulatory signs that were installed under the 2015 guidelines need to be replaced in order to remain compliant.

Currently, Baby Boomers comprise the largest sector of our driver population. With an aging population of drivers, it is now more important than ever to ensure that the signs on our roads are larger and brighter.
