A View from the Driver’s Seat:  2025 in the Rear View Mirror

As 2025 comes to a close, I look back on the year with gratitude, pride, and a little bit of déjà vu. Let me explain…

First the gratitude…I am so thankful to our customers for their loyalty, their trust in us, their repeat business, and for the continued opportunities to deliver safety to communities in the New York and New Jersey & CT area. I am also thankful for our team; I may be biased but I believe we are the best in the business from the shop to the office to the sales team.  We never lose sight of the big things like quality, service, specification, and innovation, and we also never lose sight of the small things like returning a phone call or going out of our way to help you.

Second, the prideGlenco had a great year and I’m happy to share our Top Ten Achievements from 2025:

  1. Improved our team with a new sales rep, Mario Mendez, covering Long Island

  2. Developed a new website

  3. Hired a marketing firm and raised our profile through professional communications, sales materials, and social media

  4. Presented at numerous industry events

  5. Improved and expanded our production capacity with an additional new printer for the sign shop

  6. Sponsored professional associations and events including APWA Long Island Lunch & Golf Outing, APWA SENY, WCAMPWA, WPCATSOH, Orange County, APWA Roadeo.

  7. Attended Equipment Shows including APWA, ATSSA, SENY, PWANJ, APWA National, NJ League of Municipalities

  8. Expanded our solar product sales including variable message boards, LaneLight® Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs), LaneLight® In-Road Warning Lights (IRWLs) in 6 locations in Yonkers, NY, grew market share and sales of LaneLight® Solar LED Traffic Signs, & Solar Barricade Lights

  9. Manufactured and sold over 20,000 signs and 8,000 posts

  10. Designed, manufactured, and delivered ornamental streetscape projects featuring custom signs and poles in many municipalities in the region.

Third, the sense of déjà vu  In a way, the year will end where we started. When I wrote the New Year blog last January, I discussed the industry concerns about inflation, tariffs, and rising labor costs. These pressures remain, particularly as we move into winter.  Plow blades are an absolute essential for roadway safety and maintenance in our area. They are manufactured in Canada and, therefore, are subject to tariffs. We will continue to work diligently with our customers and our suppliers to deliver the best service and quality at a fair price.

We are ready to STEP into 2026…Stay tuned as we unveil our Safe Traffic Education Program in the coming months.

Glenco wishes everyone a safe and joyous holiday season and a happy, healthy, prosperous new year.
